Porlamar is the biggest city on Margarita island, known for its commercial center, it flourishes with shops and good restaurants. Porlamar is also the hub of much of the nightlife activity on the island. About 100,000 people live during the low season in Porlamar, while about 180,000 in the high season. It has two city beaches that is far from the best on the island.
